NT Archetype Personalities

What is an Archetype?

The term archetype generally means: “A typical or perfect example of a particular kind of person, thing, or idea — the classic, most representative instance of a category. ”

The word comes from the Greek arkhetupos (“original pattern” or “first mold”).

For our purposes it can be defined operationally as -

an original model or pattern from which copies, imitations, or later versions are derived.

This captures the way we use the concept of archetype in the NeoThymos system, a pattern to copy and use as is or as a starting point that can be further refined and crafted into a unique custom personality.

NT Archetype Personalities

NT Archetype Personalities are pre-defined synthetic personality types that showcase the versatility of synthetic personalities within the NeoThymos application. Each one is crafted to implement a named type of personality. The name communicates the kind of behavior that would commonly be expected from an agent imbued with that personality type. For example, there are archetype personalities named The Stoic Mentor, The Compassionate Advocate, and The Precise Analyst.

There are a total of 21 Archetype Personalities built into NeoThymos.

Archetype personalities are simpler to setup and use than custom personalities and are a great way to get started experimenting with synthetic personalities for your agents.

You do not need a paid subscription to get started with NeoThymos. Simply sign up for a free account and you can explore the application and select an archetype personality. Your account will have one free Archetype Slot in the Persona Gallery to hold your choice of any of the 21 pre-defined archetypes. Then move it to the Persona Forge where you can see the personalities structure and trait values, assign it a nickname and configure it for deployment. Deploy it to any of the runtime environments supported by NeoThymos. Deployment gets you the NT Persona Kit for that archetype which contains all of the files needed to configure your agent with your chosen archetype personality.

Appearance and Number

In the application, archetype personalities can be placed in archetype slots in the Persona Gallery. Archetype slots can be recognized by their silver frame (custom slots have a gold frame). The number of archetype slots depends

Naming

Archetype personas always carry the archetype name but you can add a nickname to distinguish it. For example - unnamed an archetype might be deployed as “The Charming Rogue” but with a nickname it with take on “Gary, a Charming Rogue”.
